Today saw the start of a journey in the making for many months. Before the sun rose in Adelaide (as it happens it couldn’t be seen with all the rain) I was north bound to Alice. And as I sit here at sun down on a calm warm evening I’m grateful that today, for once, has gone as planned! The real departure day is Saturday with the first push north towards Darwin. Between now and then I’ll just sleep, rest and relax 😊. And eat…lots! Mind you I had forgotten you have to sell a kidney to get a weeks shopping here – absolute madness in terms of prices! But it’s Alice. I’ll write more on Saturday when I hope to have my first night under the endless northern sky 😊

Hey Tony, thinking of you this morning as you set off for Day 1 on your bike. As the Irish say, may the wind be always at your back and the sun shine warm upon your face – but not too warm! Stay safe. Proud of you my friend. X
